About me
My name is Chiara, I am 24 years old and I live in Florence since I started here my university studies. I come from Siracusa, a beautiful city notable for its rich Greek history, culture, amphitheatres, architecture, and as the birthplace of the preeminent mathematician and engineer Archimedes. In Florence I study modern languages, English, French and Swedish that is my mother language, in fact I'm bilingual Italian and Swedish. I love literature, the Italian one as well as the foreign ones and I'm also interested in films and music. I love travelling because it gives you the opportunity to experience new cultures and to meet people from different places. The world is full of things, and I would like to learn about them as much as possible.
Qualifications & Experience
I study Modern Languages at the University of Florence. Last year I was in Bristol, England, thanks to the Erasmus Program. During this period I had the opportunity to teach Italian in some school, as part of the course of teaching modern languages as a foreign language.
Teaching Approach
I believe that the most effective way to learn a foreign language is through conversation. This is why my lessons are based on a conversational approach. The most important thing is to be confident speaking a language, to do this it is important to practice as much as possible with speaking and listening skills. I will let you talk, I will let you be an ACTIVE player during the lessons. We will also have a look on grammar rules, of course, because it is the basis of a language and I will let you practice with your writing skills. If you have any particular need I can personalize the lessons based on which aspect of Italian language and culture you would like to practice more.
